| - Two specimens of the ascothoracidan Introcornia australis sp. nov., the second known species of its genus, have been found in an internal gall in a branch of the scleractinian Lophelia pertusa (L.) dredged from a depth of 460-510 m off Saint Paul Island in the southern Indian Ocean. The new species is described and compared with I. conjugans, a Japanese species, and some aspects of its morphology are discussed. L. pertusa represents a new subfamily of hosts for ascothoracidans of the family Petrarcidae.
