  • The French species of Scydmaeninae Cephenniini belonging to the genus Cephennium P. W. J. Muller & Kunze, 1822, subgenus Cephennium, are reviewed. Lectotypes are designated for C. albericum Croissandeau, 1894, C. argodi Croissandeau, 1891, C. intermedium Fairmaire, 1860, C. lantosquense Croissandeau, 1891, C. maritimum Reitter, 1884, and C. nicaense Reitter, 1882. Three species new for science are described: C. cauchoisi ri. sp., C. lefebvrei n. sp. and C. tronqueti n. sp.; a species, C. doderoi Binaghi, 1942, known from Italia, is new for France. The French fauna comprises now fourteen species; some comments about morphology, ecology, biology and distribution are provided.
