| - In New Caledonia the family Gryllidae is represented by 12 subfamilies, 28 genera and at least 87 species. In this work we describe nine new genera [KOGHIELLA, IGNAMBINA, AMONEMOBIUS, PANIELLA, IONEMOBIUS CALTATHRA PROTURANA, ARCHENOPTERUS, and CALSCIRTUS] and 55 new species. The New Caledonian fauna, though close to Australia, is very distinctive and is represented by several species groups (Notosciobia, Koghiella, Tremellia, Agnotecous, Adenopterus, Archenopterus, calscirtus, and Matuanus) which have radiated on the island. Much of this fauna seems to have radiated along the now mainly submarine Norfolk Ridge.
