  • A first-year Black-billed Cuckoo was observed and photographed on 15th November 2013 at Breles, Finistere, at the western tip of Brittany. Accepted by the French Rarities Committee, this is the first record of a presumed wild bird of this species for France. A previous old record of an adult female caught in July 1886 in southern France, stuffed and preserved in the National Museum of Natural History of Paris, is considered ofdubious origin.
