  • The genus Gymnetis MacLeay (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Cetoniinae: Gymnetini) is comprehensively revised and now includes 56 species and four subspecies. Based upon the study of type material, the following new synonyms are established: Gymnetis glauca Gory and Percheron, Gymnetis perplexa Burmeister, and Gymnetis vermiculea Burmeister are Gymnetis bajula bajula (Olivier). Gymnetis chontalensis Janson and Gymnetis nigrina Bates are Gymnetis coturnix Burmeister. Gymnetis guntheri Schilrhoff is Gymnetis cupriventris kerremansi Neervoort van de Poll.
