  • The authors have examined a significant number of Ectobius Stephens, 1835, specimens from various localities in Corsica. Three species were found to occur on the island: the endemic Ectobius corsorum. Rarnme, 1923, Ectobius intermedius Failla & Messina, 1981, previously known only from Southern Sardinia, and Ectobius vittiventris (A. Costa, 1847), widely distributed but never before reported from Corsica and Sardinia. All three species are discussed and illustrated with drawings and photo- graphs of the 7th abdominal segment's glandular pit. Citations about the presence of Ectobius pallidus (Olivier, 1789) in Corsica are not considered valid.
