  • The male adult of Micropsectra arduinna Moubayed-Breil, sp.n. is described, the diagnosis based on material recently collected in low land acid peat bogs (alt. 250-300 m) located in the department of Ardennes (NEFrance). Taxonomic notes provided include some comparative characters found in the male adult ofM. uliginosa (Reiss, 1969), which is considered to be a sister species of M. arduinna Moubayed-Breil, sp.n. The distribution of M. arduinna Moubayed-Breil sp.n. is currently restricted to its type locality. Remarks on taxonomic position, and ecology of the new described species are given.
