  • Amphicnaeia gouverneuri n. sp. from French Guiana is described. This species belongs to the group with pronotum adorned with longitudinal bands of pubescence, where it is characterized by ringed antennae, light legs and elytra without definite pattern. It is closer related to A. flavofemorata Breuning, 1940, from which it differs in ringed antennomere III, much extended light rings of other antennomeres, c5fferent dorsal coloration and black apex of tibiae. It is also similar to A. antennata Galileo&Martins, 2001, from which it differs in the antennal characters evidenced for the previous species, glabrous pronotal sides and different dorsal coloration.
