  • The discovery of several larvae of Phloeostichus denticollis allows to detail their morphology and their biology. Larval micro-habitats are small and dead branches beared by alive or recently dead maple tree (Acer pseudoplatanus). The larvae feed on sporophores of an ascomycete fungus growing into the bark, Prosthecium pyriforme at the Stegonsporium anamorph stage. A complement to the larvae description is given, together with original drawings and images of its micro-habitat. This work also includes a bibliographic review about Phloeostichus and an updated distribution map for France.
