A fourth species in the nycteis group of the genus Theope is described with two males collected in the Amazonian forest of Bolivia. In this group which forms are very similar, this new species has been recognised thanks to the discovery in French Guiana of seven males and two females smaller and with some differences compared to the later. This new guianan form is described as sub species.
