dct:abstract
  • Two new species of trochamminids, from the high volcanic island of Moorea and the Scilly atoll (French Polynesia), are Rotaliammina lecalvezae, n. sp. and Siphotrochammina salvati, n. sp. They live embedded in sand grains. They are small (50-150 .mu.m) and abundant in shallow sedimentary biotopes of the two islands, where they contribute to bioerosion and sedimentogenesis. Their abundance varies according to bathymetry, granulometry and hydrodynamical conditions.
