| - Is the potter wasp Parodontodynerus ephippium (KLUG, 1817) fully established in Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany)? (Hymenoptera, Vespidae: Eumeninae) The authors report on another record of the potter wasp (Eumeninae) Parodontodynerus ephippium (KLUG, 1817) (Fig. 1) in Rhineland-Palatinate. This first record dates back to the year 2003 when the species was found near Cochem in the Mosel valley. The originally Mediterranean species has recently also been found in the southern part of Rhineland-Palatinate. Based on our present knowledge these are the only records of P ephippium within Germany. A distribution map for Rhineland-Palatinate is presented (Fig. 2). So far the northernmost records of this species were reported from Switzerland, France, Austria and Slovakia. The origin of our species is questionable; it might be possible that they have been introduced accidentally.
