  • A contribution to the knowledge of the diet of a salt-marsh species, Arctosa fulvolineata (Lycosidae), is given here. Females were fed under controlled conditions during twelve days with amphipods sampled in freshwater and in intertidal habitats, according to different salinity conditions. Our results basically showed a high predation rate (around 84%), then differing in intensity depending on the origin of prey and soil salinity. Prey from salted habitats have been clearly avoided in boxes filled. Despite showing an original behaviour, i.e. feeding on marine prey by a terrestrial predator, this study calls for new studies, notably on prey specialization. Interspecific comparisons and potential eco-physiological implications should be investigated in depth in the future.
