| - Three new species are described in the genus Lauraesilpha Grandcolas, 1997. Their distribution shows that the species are endemic at the level of the large mountainous chains in New Caledonia. In addition to the synapomorphies described by Grandcolas (1996), this genus shows several poorly known synapomorphies of Blattidae and Tryonicinae, concerning the malpighian tubules (6 groups), the morphology of the subgenital plate, the way they laid oothecae. Two sequences of ribosomal RNA from 12S and 16S genes were obtained and are similar to those of other Blattidae already known in this respect. A cladistic analysis of the available sequences of Blattidae places Lauraesilpha, the representative of the subfamily Tryonicinae, as a sister-group of other Blattidae.
