  • Among the fish caught at the sea surface at Reunion Island (Indian Ocean) following the volcanic eruption of Piton de La Fournaise in April 2007, was a small specimen (1.8 cm standard length) of the Trachichthyidae species Aulotrachichthys sajademalensis. This species was originally described from a specimen from Saya de Malha Bank (Kotlyar, 1979). This record extends southerly the known distribution area for this species.
