dct:abstract	This first part in dealing with the taxonomic position of a new species which has been found in the superior infralittoral sand biotops of the Delta of the Rhone. Parachiridotea mediterranea, spec. nov., differs from the atlantic species, P. panousei, at least by the personal coxal plates VI and VII, as well as by the mandibulate structure. Its way of life in sand, whose interstitial water has a variable salinity, add to our knowledge about Idoteidae.
