  • Athous lateralis Brisout de Bameville, 1866 appears like a species of the French fauna in the work of Lucien Leseigneur Coleopteres Elateridae de la faune de France continentale et de Corse (Leseigneur, 1972: 210-211) according to a specimen discovered by ([dagger]) Jean Jarrige in the Eastern Pyrenees. The synonymies established successively by Sanchez-Ruiz A. (1996) and Platia G. (2006 and 2007) resulted in this species being named kruegeri Reitter, 1905 in the Catalogue des Coleopteres de France (Tronquet M., 2014). In actual fact, it is an unknown species described here.
