In the framework of an inventory of the invertebrate fauna of the Parc Phoenix large greenhouse, Lophoproctus coecus Pocock, 1894 a bristly millipede known from Italy but new for the French fauna has been observed in a temperate greenhouse. According to this discovery, seven species belonging to the order Polyxenida are listed in Metropolitan France. An updated statement of the distribution of the Penicillata in France and Monaco is proposed.
