| - The collection of insects of the Entomological Department of the National Museum in Prague contains 2870 specimens of the family Lauxaniidae (Diptera) up to 1st January 1988. They belong to 55 species and 14 genera. The majority of the specimens originates from the territory of Bohemia (81 per cent). Smaller part of the specimens (13.5 per cent) has been caught in Moravia and only 0.5 per cent in Slovakia. 5 per cent of the specimens have been collected outside of Czechoslovakia, mainly in Mediterranean. The specimens of the family have been mostly determined for the first time. Original determination of small part of the specimens, especially by these collected at the end of the last and at the beginning of this century, was revised. Material of the collection contains species Minettia filia (BECK.) and Cnemacantha muscaria (FALL.), which represent the first finding on the territory of Bohemia. The collection of the National Museum further contains several thermophilic species, for example Minettia biseriata LW. and M. longiseta Lw. (from the territory of southern France) and Minettia subvittata LW. (from the territory of southern France and Bulgaria).
