  • This note reports the discovery of Lignyodes helvolus (LeConte, 1876) (Coleoptera, Curculionidae), a species new to the French mainland. This species is native to North America and was detected in 2012 and 2015 in the Indre-et-Loire department. Lignyodes helvolus undergoes larval development in seeds of Fraxinus spp. With L. bischoffi (Blatchley, 1916), this is the second species of the genus Lignyodes introduced from the Nearctic region to Europe.
