  • Results are presented of an examination of some Strobl's types and other specimens. Five new synonyms are established, and Paradelphomyia (Oxyrhiza) ecalcarata (Edwards, 1938) is proposed as a nomen protectum over Gonomyia pilipennis Strobl, 1880. Two taxa described by Strobl as a %22variety%22 or %22form%22 are elevated to species rank, Cheilotrichia (Empeda) alpina (Strobl, 1895), stat. n. and C (E.) fuscohalterata (Strobl, 1906), star. n. Dicranomyia (Dicranomyia) novemmaculata (Strobl, 1906), sp. restit. is restored from synonymy. Lectotypes are designated of Cheilotrichia (Empeda) alpina, C. (E) fuscohalterata, Prionolabis longeantennata (Strobl, 1910) and Rhypholophus crassipes Strobl, 1900. Redescriptions are given of P. longeantennata, R. crassipes and D. (D.) novemmaculata. The brachypterous female of P. longeantennata and the male of D. (D.) novemmaculata are described. Taxonomic characters of the three redescribed species are illustrated for the first time. Description of Prionolabis schmidi sp. n. (France: Pyrenees) is presented.
