  • The study of the Acrotylus' samples collected in Corsica by Yoan Braud allows to conclude that the species identified until now as Acrotylus i. insubricus is a new species: Acrotylus braudi sp. nov. The diagnosis criteria separating this new species from the only other species present in Corsica, Acrotylus patruelis, are numerous; in particular, the males of A. braudi are immediately recognizable by the brown mark on the hind wing which is more distant from the edge. It differs from Acrotylus i. insubricus by the minor width of vertex (in absolute, and in relation with eye's length), by the larger extension of the tegmina (in absolute and in relation to pronotum's length and to hind femur's length), and by the narrowness of hind femurs and of tegmina. The new species is more distantly related to Acrotylus fischeri. A key for the Acrotylus species present in Corsica and continental France is provided.
