  • Several collecting trips conducted in 1994 and 1995 mainly in the French departments of Alpes-Maritimes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Var enabled to bring together 721 individuals belonging to 62 species for a total of 301 occurences. Four species new for science were collected and have been described in a previous publication: Tipula (Emodotipula) gomina, Tipula (Lunatipula) vesubiana, Tipula (Pterelachisus) cayollensis and Tipula (Yamatotipula?) roya (DUFOUR, 2003). Two other species were collected for the first time in France: Dolichopeza graeca Mannheins, 1954, and Tipula saginata Bergroth,1891. Furthermore, two additional species new for France have been collected in the nearby regions: Tipula (Tipula) italica Lackschewitz, 1930, in the Vaucluse and Tipula (Lunatipula) sacerdotula Riedel, 1918 in the Southern Corsica.
