  • The genera of %22long-bodied%22 opisthoproctids, Bathylychnops, Ioichthys, Dolichopteryx, Dolichopteroides and the first described Duolentops gen. nov. (type species: D. minuscula), were revised. An overview of diagnostically significant characters was given and new diagnoses of the genera were compiled. The characteristics of a number of species (I. kashkini, D. minuscula, D. andriashevi, D. longipes, D. parini, D. pseudolongipes, D. trunovi, and D. vityazi) were specified. D. pseudolongipes was first discovered in the western Pacific Ocean. A new species, Dolichopteryx nigripes sp. nov., from the South Pacific was described. A new key for identification of the genera and species of %22long-bodied%22 opisthoproctids has been compiled.
