  • Megacraspedus microsacculella sp. nov. (Gelechiidae) is described from the South of France (Herault and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). The male and brachypterous female are presented and their genitalia figured. The new species which belongs to the Megacraspedus pentheres group is very similar to M. pentheres Walsingham, 1920, with which it had so far been confused; both species differ in structures of the male genitalia (female of M. pentheres unknown), and a DNA barcode analysis shows a difference of ca. 2%.
