| - A non-exhaustive inventory of the molluscs of the seamount La Perouse, 170 km northwest of Reunion Island, was carried out using photos, shell samples and sediment samples for %22micro-molluscs%22. 132 species were recorded, including 115 gastropods, 13 bivalves, 2 cephalopods and 2 scaphopods. 8 species are new to Reunion waters. Notable species that have become rare in Reunion Island have been observed such as Cassis cornuta and Conus barthelemyi. This seamount, whose summit is located in a mesophotic zone, constitutes a natural refuge area for certain species of molluscs, protecting them in particular from the harvest they may be subject to elsewhere in the southwestern Indian ocean. The presence of these species could, through connectivity and larval dispersal, contribute to the resilience of some of them in near-surface ecosystems, confirming the importance of creating a true system of connected marine protected areas.
