| - The genus Isopus Montrouzier, 1860 (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae) is endemic to New Caledonia. According to our actual knowledge in terms of phylogenetic classification, it ranks within the subfamily Stenochiinae, into the tribe Cnodalonini. Currently, 34 species are known, but many new species have yet to be described such as Isopus imperialis n. sp. the description of which is the subject of this article.
