  • Cacopsylla perrieri sp. nov. is described and illustrated from Southern France and differences to closely related species are discussed. Intraspecific variation in paramere morphology is described and illustrated for C. perrieri, C. saliceti and C. moscovita. A neotype is designated for Psylla salicis Ramirez Gomez, which is synonymised with C. saliceti. The occurrence of two colour races is reported for C. ambigua, and differences are discussed between C. intermedia and the closely related species C. abdominalis and C. ambigua. Based on the study of parts of the female holotype, Cacopsylla picta (FOERSTER, 1848) is recognised as senior synonym of Cacopsylla costalis (FLOR, 1861). The 17 Central and West European Cacopsylla spp. associated with Salix are listed with synonyms, distributions and host plants. SEM pictures are provided of the parameres of 11 species of the saliceti group.
