| - Only four feather mite species are associated with the Fregatidae. The mites, assigned to the analgoid family Alloptidae, are Alloptellus coniventris (Trousessart) (= Proctophyllodes (Alloptes) conniventris) (Oxyalginae); Alloptes (Conuralloptes) fregatae, sp. nov.; and FREGATOCOLUS, gen. nov. with Analloptes velatus Trouessart (= Analloptes pterocolurus var. velatus) (type species) and A. pterocolurus Trouessart (Alloptinae). The four species probably occur on all species and subspecies of frigatebirds.
