  • The genus Coslenchus Siddiqi, 1978 with 20 spp. is redefined. Of the known species, 6 are redescribed: C. areolatus (Egunjobi, 1967), C. cancellatus (Cobb, 1925), C. costatus (de Man, 1921) C. lycopersicus (Husain et Khan, 1976), C. multigyrus Siddiqi, 1981 and C. turkeyensis Siddiqi, 1981. Eight species are described as new to science: C. acceptus, C. cocophilus, C. gracilis, C. pastor, C. rhombus, C. rugosus and C. siddigii spp. nov. A new combination is proposed: C. assamensis (Phukan et Sanwai, 1980) comb. nov. (Aglenchus) C. areolatus (Egunjobi, 1967) previously considered a synonym is re-established. A key and a table to distinguish the species are given. [The other species included in the key are C. alacinatus Siddiqi, 1981, C. bisexualis Siddiqi, 1981, C. franklinae Siddiqi, 1981, C. indicus (Khan, Chawla et Prasad, 1969) Siddiqi, 1978, and C. pycnocephalus Siddiqi, 1981.].
