  • This paper deals with the description of a new species of Pedicia (Diptera, Nematocera, Limoriiidae) discovered in the eastern part of the Pyrenean mountains (France) during 1992 summer This new species, P. (P.) pyrenaica is closely related to Pedicia (P.) rivosa from which it differs by its reduced male wings similar in size to those of the females of the two species and likewise unsuitable for flight. Some distinctive features are emphasised, especially in the male genitalia.
