Two Havanardia species are described as new: H. societatis n. sp, from the Society Islands and H. fijiensis n. sp. from the Fiji Islands. The fossil record of the ventrolateral alate structure of the genus is used to explain possible steps in the evolution of this carapace feature, which can be traced back about 200 million years.
