  • The neotropical notodontid genus Pentobesa Schaus is defined, and Betola Schaus is placed as its junior subjective synonym. Dasylophia seriata (Druce) is also transferred to Pentobesa. The type species P. xylinoides (Walker) is figured and four new species formerly confused with it are described: P. anapiesma, P. ankistron, P. sinistra, and P. smithsoni. A key and illustrations of male and female genitalia and other diagnostic sclerites are included.
