| - The present work is the last part of an entity that we have devoted to marine mesopsammic ciliates for some 50 years. Fifteen species have been collected in France in Aber de Roscoff (Atlantic coast) or on the sandy beaches of Sete (Mediterranean coast) in order to study their infracilature and to begin to establish their morphometry. Among the nine examined species of trachelocercids, we have defined two new species: Tracheloraphis filiformis and T. exilis, and two new combinations: Trachelocerca stephani (DRAGESCO 1965) and T. bodiani (DRAGESCO 1963). New populations of trachelocercids already recently described have allowed interesting comparisons of biometric data. Other species, certain giants (thus difficult to impregnate by the protargol) are the subject of redescriptions and acquisition of morphometric data. We were finally able to collect and describe a small ciliate in the class Philasterida: Sathrophilus arenicolus spec. nova, completely unexpected in marine mesopsammic ciliates.
