dct:abstract
Species [23] of marine isopods, representing 11 families and 20 genera are recorded from depths ranging from 30-930 m. New species described are Bathygnathia porca Colanthura pingouin, Parathura possessia and Ilyarachna crozetensis. The geographic distribution of the isopod fauna of Prince Edward Island, Marion Island and Crozel Island is discussed and the affinities with the Antarctic, South America, Kerguelen Island and the widespread Subantarctic Islands noted. The Prince Edward/Crozet ispod fauna should be regarded as part of the Kerguelen Transitional Province.
