A new locality and a new host for the bird flea Ceratophyllus vagabundus alpestris Jordan, 1926 (Siphonaptera, Ceratophyllidae). The bird flea Cerataphyllu.s vagabundus alpestris Jordan, 1926 has been found in a Red-bill Chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax (L.), 1758) nest, at the bottom of natural pit located in the core area of the Mercantour National Park (Alpes-Maritimes, France). This flea species was previouly known from northern Alps (Austria and Switzerland), and from a single station in the French Western Pyrenees, on the Alpine Chough (Pyrrhocorax graculus (L.), 1766). This investigation was conducted in the framework of the All-Taxa Biodiversity Inventory (ATBI+M).
