For the egg-laying behavior of Pherbellia schoenherri (Diptera, Sciomyzidae), at various densities of Succinea elegans mollusk-prey, the response is curvilinear and may be described by the random parasite equation set up by Rogers (1972). According to Arditi (1983), the parameters defining the handing-time towards wholesome or already parasited mollusks are very close and show that the females may lay eggs on both categories. On the field, multiparasitism can be observed when Succinea densities are low.
