Membracids (105) belonging to Heteronotus Laporte were collected during field trips in French Guiana and Brazil (1975). Of 15 spp. represented, 10 are new: H. brindleyi, H. fuscoflavus, H. pompanoni, H. camaroni, H. vandamei, H. modestus, H. albopunctus, H. jauffreti, H. poupougni and H. nigrogiganteus. [Also discussed are H. spinosus Laporte, 1832; H. abcisus Walker, 1851; H. armatus Laporte, 1832; H. horridus (Fabricius, 1784); and H. delineatus Walker, 1858.].
