Platyptilia picardi sp. n. (Pterophoridae) is described from France (Alpes-Maritimes); it is essentially compared to the affine species Platyptilia gonodactyla (Denis&Schiffermtiller, 1775) and P. calodactyla (Denis&Schiffermtiller, 1775); the caterpillar lives on Tephroseris balbisiana (DC.) Holub, 1973, endemic Asteraceae to the southwest of Alps.
