Knowledge of the cicadas on Corsica is biogeographically uncertain. A new list of Cicadidae, Cicadini contains C. orni; Tibicinidae, Tibucini contains: Tibicina nigronervosa, T. corsica and T. cisticola lerestifi, ssp. nov. The principal differences with the continental form T. cisticola cisticola are described. Other species described are Cicadetta fangoana and its new variety: C. fangoana var. rufinervis, var. nov. The principal Corsican cicadas are Cicada orni, Lyristes plebeius, Tibicina corsica, T. nigronervosa, T. cisticola lerestifi, Cicadetta fangoana and C. fangoana var. rufinervis.
