Confusions regarding the presence in France of several species come from contradictions in the biblio-graphy and available data of French apoids. This paper deals with some of these cases and discuss about the presence status of these species in France. Fourteen taxa are regarded as absent from France: Andrena antigana Perez, 1895; A. assimilis Radoszkowski, 1876; A. bisulcata Morawitz, 1877; A. compta Lepeletier, 1841; A. elegans Giraud, 1863, A. enslinella Stoeckhert, 1924; A. leucophaea Lepeletier, 1841; A. morawitzi Thomson, 1870; A. rotundata Perez, 1895; A. tridentata (Kirby, 1802); Hylaeus conformis Foerster, 1871; H. cypricola (Warncke, 1972); H. signatus berlandi (Benoist, 1943); Mimumesa wuestneii (Faester, 1951). Five omitted taxa are added to French fauna: Andrena albofasciata Thomson, 1870; A. bremensis Alfken, 1900; Colletes sierrensis Frey-Gessner, 1903; Hylaeus paulus Bridwell, 1919; Stelis murina Perez, 1884. French records of three taxa are regarded as dubious and will need further investigations: Andrena poupillieri Dours, 1872; A. producta Warncke, 1973; Hylaeus decipiens Foerster, 1871. Three frequently misused names in France are discussed: Andrena erythrocnemis Morawitz, 1870; Hylaeus moricei (Friese, 1898); Megachile concinna Smith, 1879. Types of Andrena gallica Schmiedeknecht, 1883 are designated.
