Decticus verrucivorus is a rare Orthoptera in the Midi-Pyrenees plain. It was previously known from only one station in Gers, at Simorre (Occitanie region). The species was recently mentioned in two other surrounding sites within a maximum radius of one kilometer in diameter around 235 meters above sea level, these three locations seem to be only one population. New surveys should update the presence of the Wart -biter in the department and confirm a second station in the southwest of Gers. Finally, this station will be integrated into a genetic and biometric study of this species in south of France which should provide taxonomic clarifications.
