A synthesis of the available data on the geographic distribution of the Aciculidae species found in the French Pyrenees is proposed and extended to the whole of France. Renea douctouyrensis sp. nov. is described from the alluvium of the Douctouyre river (France, Ariege). It is the first mention of the genus Renea in the Pyrenees.
