Nyctia halterata (Panzer, 1798) being a indeterminable and confused species, with the holotype definitively lost, the author selected a new species-type for the genus Nyctia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1.830, namely Nyctia gilbochaeta n. sp., calling upon article 70.3.2 of the I.C.Z.N. He describes more three new species, which are characterized by different genitalia: N. lagnesia n. sp., N. panzeriella n. sp. and N. phoenicorata n. sp. The first is in the fauna of Israel; N. lagnesia and N. phaenicorata in the fauna of France and N. panzeriella in that of Ukraine.
