Two male specimens of the Two-coloured Bush-cricket Metrioptera bicolor were captured at high altitude near Prats-de-Mollo, in the Vallespir valley, southern France, at the end of summer 1998. M. bicolor is new for the department of Pyrenees-Orientales and for the south of the region of the Languedoc-Roussillon; it is very rare in the Pyrenees generally speaking. Moreover, this two specimens belong to the very rare macropterous form sieboldi Fischer. At this occasion, it appeared useful to precise the differences which separate M. bicolor from M. azami, the coloration of which is more variable than usually indicated in determination works.
