This paper is devoted to a preliminary revision of the genus Stygnocoris. Most available typical materials are reviewed; lectotypes and paralectotypes are designated when possible; a new grouping of the species, based mainly upon male and female genital characters, is proposed in the course of the work; informations are given about some poorly-known species and their geographical distribution; one new synonymy is established, another formerly proposed is canceled, and two new species are described.
