A new species of caddisfly (subfamily Drusinae) was recently discovered near the sources of the River Esteron (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department). It is named Drusus perieuphorion because of its morphological and geographical proximities to Drusus euphorion (Malicky, 2002), in which it is compared in this description. Examination of dormant specimens in the collection of one of us also reveals its presence at the sources of the River Artuby (Alpes-Maritimes department), in the same geographical area from south-eastern France. D. perieuphorion sp. n. shares crenophile tendencies with the others species of the genus Drusus, inhabiting the cool waters of springs in mountain regions.
