First evidence of the breeding of Trithemis kirbyi (Odonata: Libellulidae) in France. The recent incursions of Trithemis kirbyi reported on the French territory since 2017, in a context of northwards and westwards range expansion, suggested a future settlement of the species in France. Following the recent establishment of the species in northern Spain, the discovery of many imagos and exuviae of T. kirbyi on the domain of the Villa Arnaga (Edmond Rostand's home and Museum) in Cambo-les-Bains, in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques department, thus constitutes the first evidence of breeding of the species on the French territory. The date of settlement on the site and the sustainability of the site remain, however, uncertain. Future surveys on this site and in the surrounding areas will make it possible to confirm whether or not the short and long run establishment of the species at this locality.
