A new species of the genus Bathysciola Jeannel, 1910, Bathysciola faillei n. sp., is described in the %22ovata%22 group. The was collected in a mesovoid shallow substratum and in forested habitats in different localities of the northern slope of the Pyrenees, Ariege department, France. The new species is similar to B. talpa (Normand, 1907) and the most relevant differential characters are the genital structures. The new species is characterized by the strongly dilated male protarsi and the robust aedeagus with apex rounded in dorsal view. The taxonomic position of the new species is discussed. The study is completed with figures of the most characteristic structures, distribution data and map.
