"Specimens of Pisidium (Euglesa) interstitialis Bossneck, Groh&Richling, 2020 were observed at thirteen sites in seven French departments. Unlike typical specimens of this species that inhabit the water-saturated soil of wet meadows in southwestern and Central Germany and %22exhibits an exclusively interstitial lifestyle%22 (GROH et al., 2020), these bivalves have been found in sediments (silt sands, mud) of different habitats in open water very related to groundwater supply, but always in low abundance. In addition, these bivalves exhibit significant variability. The apparently frequent presence of this new species outside its preferred habitat suggests that it may be common in France. Despite its particular lifestyle, it does not seem to have limited either its dispersal capacity or its distribution." .
